Tech group DEVCON Philippines has announced a strategic partnership with the Sui Foundation, the organization tasked with the global adoption of the Sui blockchain, to host a series of developer events and code camps across the country over the next 12 months.

Through a year-long series of national developer events and code camps, local developer communities will be trained to build on the Sui Blockchain’s high-performance infrastructure.
The initiative targets IT students, educators, and software practitioners, introducing them to Move, a programming language originally developed for Facebook’s Diem blockchain. Training will take place through DEVCON’s nationwide chapters and regional hubs, with upcoming code camps scheduled for Tacloban, Bukidnon, Iloilo, and Pampanga.
“We’re training young builders who have proof of learning, not just certificates. Participants deploy Move smart contracts on the Sui mainnet, ensuring their authorship is immutable and verifiable.”
Michael Lance Domagas, Code Camps Lead, DEVCON Philippines
During the strategic partnership launch, the Sui Foundation was represented by Harrison Kim and Nicole Gomez from Mysten Labs, a crypto and blockchain infrastructure technology company.
“I believe that the next wave of innovation will be driven by builders who have the right tools to build in a world dominated by AI and local support to help foster the adoption of these tools.
Partnering with DEVCON Philippines allows us to bring the Move programming language and the Sui Stack infrastructure directly to one of the vibrant tech communities in Southeast Asia.”

The joint initiative, officially dubbed the Move Smart Contracts Code Camps, has already hit the ground running.
The inaugural code camp was launched at the Colegio de San Juan de Letran College of Engineering and Information Technology during the “She Is DEVCON” celebrations. According to DEVCON Philippines, the institution’s educators underwent specialized blockchain training to integrate hands-on, emerging technology education directly into their academic programs.
Additionally, the partnership recently visited the Iloilo National High School. There, the Sui Foundation donated AI-lensed robotics kits and micro:bits, which were exhibited to the students to spark early interest in tech development.

“Sui’s support has already reached Pangasinan and Iloilo, allowing us to launch initiatives that reduce the intimidation factor of tech and turn curiosity into a potential career path.
We look forward to expanding our partnership through additional training and builder kits. These future expansions will ensure more students have the tools to transition from curious learners to skilled innovators.”
