NUVA Digital, the software development firm behind the real-world asset (RWA) platform NUVA, announced on April 28 it has secured US$5.2 million in a seed funding round led by Morgan Creek Digital. The company, co-created by Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs, intends to use the capital to expand its curated vault marketplace and support multi-chain deployments and institutional tooling.
Platform Structure and Features
The NUVA platform operates as a non-custodial distribution layer for RWA vaults. According to a company statement, the system allows users to deposit stablecoins to mint liquid tokens that provide yield.
The platform provides on-chain proof of reserves for transparency and does not enforce minimum deposit requirements or lockups. The development roadmap includes additional issuer integrations and the launch of a NUVA utility token.
“NUVA’s marketplace model solves the fragmentation problem by creating a simple, unified experience where anyone can access top-tier RWA vaults,” Yat Siu, co-founder and executive chairman of Animoca Brands, said in a statement.
Anthony Moro, CEO of NUVA Digital, noted that the funding validates demand for a neutral platform that offers vaults without adding custody or origination risk. Moro stated that the investment will accelerate the delivery of composability for vaulted assets across decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols.
Institutional Background
The platform was incubated by Animoca Brands and Nuva Labs, the latter being a developer on the Provenance Blockchain which currently reports over US$23 billion in total value locked.
In separate recent developments, Animoca Brands announced a US$10 million investment program for its AI agent platform, “Minds,” and extended its exclusivity period for a proposed reverse merger with Currenc Group through June 30, 2026.
