SheFi, a global web3 educational initiative for women, held its private community event in Manila on July 11, 2026, marking the official launch of its Philippines chapter. The gathering aimed to establish a localized educational and networking space for Filipino women in the blockchain and decentralized finance (DeFi) sectors.

According to SheFi Philippines Chapter Lead Krystelle Galano, the launch event reached attendee capacity despite inclement weather.
“The overwhelming support reminded me that there is a growing demand for safe, inclusive spaces where women can learn, connect, and thrive in web3,” Galano wrote.
During the gathering, attendees used YODL, a web3 payment and rewards application, to claim digital rewards and purchase beverages. Galano noted that this integration served as a practical demonstration of blockchain technology utility.
Partners and Panelists

The launch was supported by several web3, media, and finance entities. Event partners included LBank, Miden, EMW Global, Cryptita Plays, 9Catgroup, BD Ventures, Captain Capital, and news publication BitPinas.
The event featured a panel discussion highlighting professional experiences in the digital asset sector. The panel included industry representatives Myrtle Anne, Crescenda Babiera, Thara Fajardo, Pearl Sy, and Pauliza J.
Galano stated that the launch was designed to “plant the first seed of a community where more women across the Philippines can confidently learn, connect, and lead in web3.”
Background on SheFi
Founded in 2020 by Maggie Love, SheFi is an educational platform and curated community designed to onboard women and non-binary individuals into web3, DeFi, and other emerging technologies. The initiative was established to address the gender and education gap in the cryptocurrency sector, where research indicates women remain underrepresented as both investors and founders.
SheFi operates structured multi-week cohorts that teach technical blockchain fundamentals, wallet security, and decentralized protocols through hands-on exercises. The organization has expanded its footprint to over 100 countries, with a global network exceeding 30,000 members.
