Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC), the exclusive licensee of 7-Eleven in the Philippines, announced that digital payment acceptance has expanded to 98 percent of its nationwide store network, with plans to reach 100 percent coverage.
Digital Payment Adoption and System Upgrades
During the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting, PSC President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Lee stated that digital payment capabilities now cover approximately 4,000 stores as of May 2026, up from over 1,000 stores at the end of 2025.
Lee reported that digital payments account for approximately 7 percent of total customer transactions and 12 percent of overall sales.
Supported payment options include credit cards, debit cards, QR Ph, e-wallets, and Google Pay, according to company statements. Lee added that integration of Apple Pay is planned for a future update.
PSC Chairman Jose Victor Paterno noted that the firm resolved initial system reliability issues after refining its payment infrastructure to support both merchant-scanned QR codes and customer-generated barcodes at checkout.
Store Network Expansion and Capital Outlay
The expansion of digital payment channels complements PSC’s broader store modernization program, which involves branch remodeling and relocating underperforming outlets.
According to company data, PSC ended 2025 with 4,491 operating stores, consisting of 53.42 percent company-owned branches and 46.58 percent franchised locations.
The company allocated P5 billion in capital expenditures for 2026 to add 400 stores, maintaining its target of reaching 5,000 total outlets by the end of the year.
Following the briefing on Thursday, PSC shares rose 1.68 percent to finish at P33.35 per share.
