The conference hasn’t reached its main event and there are numerous major Ripple developments already.
Ripple Swell 2026 officially runs from October 27-29 in New York, but the company used “Day 0” to unveil several significant developments across its institutional business.
CEO Brad Garlinghouse summarized four of the biggest updates and highlighted an appearance by US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.
Robinhood and BNY Expand Ripple Ties
Perhaps the biggest commercial announcement came yesterday: Robinhood has entered into a broad strategic partnership with Ripple covering stablecoins, treasury operations, institutional settlement, financing, and market access. RLUSD is already available on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, and it’s expected to reach the main app later this year.
Vlad Tenev’s company will also use the stablecoin on the XRP ledger for institutional settlement, integrate Ripple Treasury into its own financial operations, and expand its relationship with Ripple Prime.
As CryptoPotato reported, Ripple Prime already provides Bitstamp by Robinhood with lending and margin financing across roughly 20 digital assets, and it expects to add perpetual futures support later this year.
Ripple also expanded its collaboration with BNY Mellon, which now supports both XRP and RLUSD on its institutional digital asset custody platform. The two parties also plan to explore tokenized trade finance on the XRP Ledger, including a potential supply-chain finance initiative involving C2FO.
In a separate announcement, Ripple and C2FO said they are bringing financing and settlement for the latter’s Instant Pay platform onto XRPL, with RLUSD used for settlement. The idea is to help suppliers receive funds in seconds rather than waiting for traditional bank transfers.

Treasury Expansion and Regulatory Win
Ripple Treasury introduced 24/7 Returns this week, which is designed to let eligible companies potentially put idle cash to work outside conventional banking hours using qualifying digital assets, including RLUSD. The platform combines cash management, forecasting, payments, liquidity tools, and AI-powered automation.
We noted earlier this week that the offering aims to move corporate treasury beyond traditional banking-hour limitations to an always-on model, with companies including American Airlines, Subway, and Adecco using Ripple Treasury.
Meanwhile, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency gave Ripple National Trust Bank the final regulatory nod, completing a process that began with conditional approval in December 2025.
The federally supervised entity will be authorized to manage segregated reserves supporting Ripple’s stablecoin, act as collateral trustee for holders, and provide fiduciary digital asset custody services.
Garlinghouse emphasized that these announcements arrived only on Day 0, with Swell’s main program beginning afterward and more developments expected during the remainder of the conference.
We’re kicking off 10 years of @RippleSwell with a bang!
1/ Goes without saying, but it was an honor to open up our conference with @SecScottBessent. His leadership, alongside the current administration, has been instrumental in ensuring that responsible crypto can thrive in the US. I’m extremely grateful he spent time with us today.
2/ BIG partner news 🚨 we’re bringing Ripple’s infrastructure to @RobinhoodApp (supporting both customer-facing services and core financial operations), from $RLUSD settlement on the @XRP Ledger to prime brokerage and treasury operations & expanding our relationship with @BNYglobal across custody and tokenized trade finance with RLUSD, XRP and the XRP Ledger.
3/ We are bringing digital assets to corporates 👀 → Ripple Treasury introduced 24/7 Returns designed to help corporates put idle cash to work outside banking hours utilizing stablecoins (this is one step further to realizing the vision of our Treasury management business).
4/ Last but certainly not least, @USOCC granted final approval for Ripple National Trust Bank!
And it’s only day 0 (technically the Swell main event starts tomorrow!). More to come this week…
